Boston’s Best Sights: Top 10 Most Instagrammable Spots
We put together the top 10 most Instagram-worthy places around Boston, from the classic to the lesser-known. Check out our list below to see the city’s hot spots and hidden gems – and do it for the ‘gram.
The Skinny House in the North End is, well, exactly what it sounds like: a super tall and narrow house tucked between two normal-sized buildings. Interestingly enough, it was built by a man in the 1880s as a “spite house” to block his neighboring brother’s view of the harbor.
The harbor view from The Institute of Contemporary Art is a piece of artwork in itself. If you can, try to attend one of the Institute’s evening events – the scene is even more striking at night.
Between the classic architecture and the Hogwarts-esque reading rooms, the Boston Public Library is a great place to explore and take photos. It’s known as one of the most beautiful libraries in America, and for good reason.
It’s not every day you see a functioning carnival ride in the middle of a city. The Boston Common Carousel isn’t your typical merry-go-round, either: it features unique animals including a rooster and a rabbit.
The Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum is known for its flower-filled garden courtyard and its unique collection of rare art, books, photographs, and furniture. Perfect for your Instagram! If your name is Isabella, you can even get in for free.
Stained glass windows illuminate the constantly-changing colors throughoutthe street-art filled Graffiti Alley in Cambridge. The walkway is an open-air, 24-hour art gallery, so its not uncommon to see artists at work.
Traffic control boxes around the city are permanently painted as part of the Boston Art Commission. Fill your Instagram feed with designs like a squirrel eating pizza, a lifelike jukebox, cityscapes and skylines, and this psuedo-dollhouse. Find your favorite here!
Did you know that the dome of the Massachusetts State House is made of 23-karat gold? This landmark’s adornments make it one of the most photogenic pieces of history in the state
The most interesting bench in Boston is an interactive art installation. The U-shaped seat is a great place for a photo opp, and it’s an even better place to chill and take in the view. Yes – you can really sit in it!
Yawkey Way outside Fenway Park is a perfect place to hit up for Insta-worthy shots – in fact, it’s the most Instagrammed place in the entire state. Whether you’re planning on sticking around for the game or just stopping by for a hotdog outside the stadium, you’re sure to get tons of great photos to commemorate your visit.
